Our Upgrade Process

K+S Services has over 40 years of experience reconditioning servo valves. We maintain data transparency and ensure quality by integrating an ISO 9001:2015-compliant system into our process, and we have dedicated test stands designed around specific manufacturers and product lines. In some scenarios, our factory-certified technicians may determine that your valve is non-repairable. This assessment can result from a variety of issues, ranging from heat-damaged magnets to significant scoring or erosion at the first stage. Regardless of what issues you’re experience, our goal is to find a cost-efficient solution that helps you avoid downtime. When you contact K+S Services, here is what you can expect:

Step 1

Evaluation:

Our OEM-trained technicians fully disassemble the valve, assessing every component for signs of damage or wear. Damaged components are documented and photographed in our quality management system.

Step 2

Analysis Report:

You’ll receive a no-cost Failure Analysis Report highlighting what our technicians found, our recommended course of action, and a cost and timeline estimate. If our technicians determined your servo valve is non-repairable, our specific upgrade recommendation would be noted in this report.

Step 3

Upgrade:

Once you accept the quote, we’ll contact Star to source your drop-in replacement.

Step 4

Diagnostics:

Before we ship your new Star servo valve to you, we’ll perform thorough dynamic and static load tests to ensure your replacement meets performance requirements.

Step 5

Shipping:

We’ll ship your Star servo valve, along with manufacturer installation and maintenance recommendations.
