Why Your Motor Could Have Failed

Like any other machine or machine part, motors require ongoing maintenance, and even with the most meticulous maintenance schedule, motors can still breakdown due to overheating, contamination, and moisture intrusion. The underlying reason(s) in each case ultimately determines whether a repair is even possible, how long it will take, and the overall cost.

K+S Services offers comprehensive reconditioning services that not only restore cosmetic and function, but also original performance specifications. We keep up to $5 million worth of parts stocked to ensure we always have what we need to serve you, and even if your model is obsolete and direct OEM replacements aren’t possible, our engineers can still design and remanufacture damaged components. Step 1

Evaluation:

Our factory-certified technicians complete a thorough inspection to look for visible damage and identify a probable cause of failure. All components are cleaned, photographed, and documented. If you suspect your site’s environmental conditions have contributed to the motor’s breakdown, please let us know.

Step 2

Analysis Report:

We’ll send an Analysis Report outlining what our technicians found during the initial evaluation, our recommended course of action, and cost and timeline estimates.

Step 3

Repair:

Once you’ve accepted the quote, we’ll complete the necessary work to get the motor back to working condition. Damaged components are replaced or remanufactured with OEM or OEM-equivalent spares. Every step of the repair process is documented in our ISO 9001:2015-compliant quality management system and visible to you through our Customer Portal.

Step 4

Diagnostics:

After our team completes the repairs, we test the motor under similar work conditions or loads that it will undergo while back at your worksite. The reconditioned motor won’t leave our facility until we’ve verified that it meets or exceeds performance requirements.

Step 5

Post-Repair:

We’ll send your reconditioned motor back to you, along with a report outlining which components were remanufactured or replaced, testing results, installation instructions, and best maintenance practices to ensure a longer-lasting repair.
